The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority

The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was established by the Government of The Gambia as an autonomous body in July 1991 (under the Public Enterprise Act of 1989) to give effect to the Chicago Convention and to monitor and regulate the aviation industry in The Gambia to acceptable International Standards.

GCAA’s vision is to foster a safe, secure, efficient, profitable, sustainable and environmentally friendly aviation industry.

The Director General's Message

As the national aviation authority of The Gambia, we are committed to promoting safe, secure, and efficient air transport in our country. Our mission is to regulate civil aviation and the air transport industry, provide air navigation services, and operate and manage Banjul International Airport to the highest standards.

We are proud of our achievements in promoting air transport in The Gambia, and we remain committed to pursuing excellence in all our activities. We believe that our website is an essential tool for achieving our mission, and we will continue to improve and update it to meet the needs of our stakeholders.
